I'm still new to the forums, and I did a search here in off-topic to see if I could find a "what do you listen to" or "what do you listen to while working" thread but I didn't see one. I have seen an offhand post here and there that gave some hints. So what DO you guys listen to? I'm guessing Type-O-Negative and Corrosion of Conformity are not in most your CD players, nor are they in mine . I'm a music nut and like almost all styles, so I'll start.

Currently in "heavy" rotation on my mp3 player:

Norah Jones
Hank Sr.
Jack Johnson
Antonio De Lucena
Nine Inch Nails (hmmm, maybe Type-O-Negative and COC aren't too far fetched)
Wes Montgomery
House of Pain (mandatory highschool throwback)
Buena Vista Social Club (with Ry Cooder)
and many, many other fine artists :)

I like a lot of indie-type rock (Death Cab for Cutie, Pedro the Lion, Shins, etc) and indie-folk (Sufjan Stevens, Iron & Wine, etc) and also some Americana-oriented stuff like Gillian Welch and Nickel Creek.

Over the last couple days, I find myself returning over and over to Susan Enan's myspace page to listen to the two new songs she has up (especially Monoplain). I've had her wonderful EP "Skin, Bones and Silicone" for a couple years anxiously waiting for a new album, which is supposed to happen before the end of the year I think. She's from Belfast, recently transplanted to NYC. Wonderful voice, and nice understated style.

I think people who like Norah Jones would like Amos Lee. He's like a male
Norah. Same melding of folk and soul.

Stevie Ray Vaughn ----> Pride and joy is my favorite on this album!

As a kid, i was raised to Country and bluegrass,as a teenager, mostly disco ( well, girls loved it huh? ) as a young man in College, AC/DC, Skid Row, Yes, Pink Floyds, Beatles, Supertramp, Guns'n'roses, that's the part where i almost lost my hearing! And now, i love acoustic music preference for Tommy Emmanuel, Don Ross, Chet Atkins!

Me, too, Rod. I saw him in concert in 1974, I think, in Memphis. What a show!!............I remember when rock was young, I remember when there wasn't rock.
